Resources Software · Golf instructors
Golf lesson booking software with progress and billing built in.
A private golf instructor runs a small business inside someone else's facility. There is a lease or a revenue share to account for, range or bay time, weather that cancels a morning of lessons, packs and memberships to keep straight, and parents who pay for junior lessons without seeing them. Upswing puts the booking, the billing, and each student's progress record in one place, built for the person who teaches.
What instructors juggle
Facility arrangements vary widely. A September 2026 Golf Business report described instructors paying a monthly lease, a lease that rises with lesson count, or a revenue share, and club staff paid hourly with a split of lesson fees. Outdoor teaching is seasonal and weather-bound: one New York academy teaches from May 1 to October 31 and reschedules or cancels for inclement weather. Packs expire, memberships carry minimum terms, and a lot of payments still arrive as cash, checks, or personal app transfers.
Most tools cover one piece of this. Video apps handle the swing, facility software handles the tee sheet, and a generic scheduler handles the calendar. The instructor ends up reconciling them by hand.
Booking from one link
You set up the lesson types you sell once: 30, 45, or 60-minute privates, playing lessons, junior clinics with a capacity, and multi-week programs. You set weekly availability and blackout dates, and Upswing generates the bookable sessions. Students book from your page in any browser with no app to download. When a clinic fills, a waitlist takes over, and a regular student can hold a standing weekly slot. You can place a student into a session yourself when a booking happens on the range.
Packs and memberships as credits
A lesson pack is a set of credits on the student's account. Each confirmed booking takes one off, and both you and the student see the balance. A membership is a recurring plan that bills on its schedule and adds what it includes each period. Auto top-up lets a family refill a pack on a saved card when the balance runs low. A first-time student can book one lesson and pay by card at checkout. When someone pays cash or by check, you record it so the ledger stays complete. Every credit movement is a line on an append-only ledger, so the balance always has a history behind it.
Facility fees
If you teach at a club, course, or studio under an agreement, Upswing records the terms, including a facility fee per hour, alongside the lessons you teach there. You see what the facility is owed for a period without rebuilding it from your calendar. Clubs can also run their own workspace on Upswing, where each pro's pay for the period is computed from the terms agreed, whether that is a split, a facility fee, or a per-head clinic fee.
Weather cancellation
When lightning or rain closes the range, a weather cancellation takes one tap. Every student booked into the session is notified, and their credits go back on their accounts. They rebook from your link when it suits them. You do not send a round of texts or keep a list of who is owed a lesson.
Cancellation policy, stated before booking
You set the notice window and the late-cancel and no-show fees once. Students see the policy before they confirm, and Upswing applies it the same way every time, with a record of each fee. You can still waive a fee for a real emergency. Waivers are signed before the first lesson and kept on file.
In Upswing
Built for golf instructors
Starter benchmarks and lesson plans for golf, a Handicap Index field on the record, and a family portal for junior students.
A progress record for every student
Each student has a record: benchmark tests with numeric results charted over time, a round log, a Handicap Index field, attendance, your notes, practice assignments between lessons, and development reviews. Golf starter benchmarks, such as putting make rates, Par 18, and a wedge ladder, and golf starter lesson plans are included to copy and edit. Session plans run from your phone on the range, block by block, and a retest logged during the lesson lands on the record. The record only compares a student to their own earlier results.
A family portal for juniors
For a junior, the parent has a family portal: the schedule, the pack or membership balance, receipts, signed waivers, messages from you, and their own child's progress record. They see the same benchmark charts and notes you do, and nothing about any other student. One parent can manage several kids from the same account.
What Upswing does not do
Upswing does not analyze swing video, capture launch monitor data, run a tee sheet, or sync with GHIN. If you rely on a video tool such as V1 or CoachNow, or on a Trackman or other launch monitor, keep using it. Upswing holds the booking, the billing, the plan, and the record, and any number from those tools, such as a Combine score or a club speed, can be entered by hand as a benchmark.
How it compares
The table summarizes what other golf coaching and booking products describe on their own public pages, as of September 2026. Where a page did not mention something, we say so rather than assume it is missing. Check each vendor's current pages before deciding. Skillest, a golf-first coaching platform, lists coach pricing of $59 a month; its own pages state its platform fees differently in different places, so confirm current fees with Skillest.
Getting started
Set up your lesson types, availability, and policies, connect Stripe to take card payments, and share your booking link. Card payments and payouts turn on once Stripe is connected; until then your account says so. Pricing is flat by roster size at $99, $149, or $249 a month, with no transaction fee.

Questions
Can students buy lesson packs online?
Yes. A pack is a set of credits the student buys from your page. Each confirmed booking takes one credit off, and both of you see the balance.
How are facility fees handled?
If you teach under an agreement with a club, course, or studio, the terms, including a facility fee per hour, are recorded alongside the lessons you teach there, so you can see what the facility is owed.
What happens when it rains?
A weather cancellation takes one tap. Everyone booked is notified and their credits go back on their accounts.
Does Upswing analyze swing video?
No. Keep using your video or launch monitor tool. Upswing holds the booking, billing, plans, and progress record, and you can enter any number from other tools as a benchmark.
Can parents see progress?
Yes. In the family portal a parent sees their own child's benchmark charts, round log, notes, and assignments, along with the schedule and balance.
What does it cost?
A flat subscription by roster size: $99, $149, or $249 a month, with no transaction fee.
