Features Payments and credits
Get paid up front, and stop chasing it after.
Families buy credit packs or memberships before they book, so the money is already there when they show up. Every balance is tracked for you, every fee follows the policy you set, and Upswing takes no cut of it.
What you get
The money side, handled.
Credit packs
Sell lessons in packs families buy in advance. Every credit is tracked on an append-only ledger, so a balance is added up from real transactions and never edited in place.
Memberships
Offer a recurring membership that bills on its own schedule and carries whatever it includes. Families sign up once and it renews without another conversation.
Auto top-up
A family can set a pack to refill when its balance falls to a threshold, on a saved card, at the pack price, at most once a day. They never run out mid season and never overbuy.
Drop-in card checkout
A one-off booking can be paid by card at checkout without buying a pack first. New families can book and pay in the same minute they land on your page.
Policy-based fees
No-show fees and late-cancel fees apply under the policy you set, the same way every time, with a record of each one. You are not the person deciding case by case at the fence.
Gift cards and discounts
Families can buy and redeem gift cards, and you can attach discounts to your offerings. Both settle through the same ledger, so the balances stay honest.
How it works
Money that adds up, every time.
Balances are computed, not typed. Fees follow a stated policy. And the transaction fee from Upswing is zero.
An append-only ledger you can trust
A credit balance on Upswing is not a number someone types into a box. Every purchase, every session that spends a credit, every refund, and every adjustment is a line on an append-only ledger, and the balance is the sum of those lines. Nothing is edited in place, so the history always explains the number.
That matters when a family asks how many clinic credits they have left, or why a credit came back. You can show them, because the record was built from what actually happened rather than reconstructed from memory. Families see the same honest balance on their side, expiry dates included.
Packs, memberships, and auto top-up keep it prepaid
Credit packs turn coaching into something families pay for up front. They buy ten lessons, the credits sit on their account, and each booking draws one down. Memberships do the same on a recurring bill for families who would rather subscribe than buy in blocks.
Auto top-up closes the gap for families who like packs but hate running out. They pick a pack, a threshold, and a saved card, and when the balance drops that far Upswing buys the next pack at its normal price, at most once a day. Drop-in card checkout covers everyone else, so a one-time booking never needs a pack to go through.
Your policy on fees, and a 0% transaction fee from us
No-show and late-cancel fees are yours to set, and the software applies them under that policy the same way for everyone, with a record of each charge. You decide the rule once instead of arguing it at the court, and families see the policy before they book.
Upswing charges a 0% transaction fee on the money that moves between you and your families. Card processing runs through your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record and Stripe collects its standard processing fee directly. Card payments turn on once you connect Stripe, and your account shows an honest status line until you do.
Payment questions
What coaches ask about getting paid.
What does Upswing take from each payment?
Upswing takes a 0% transaction fee. Payments run through your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record and Stripe charges its standard processing fee directly. The Upswing subscription is the whole price from us.
How are credit balances kept accurate?
Every purchase, spend, refund, and adjustment is a line on an append-only ledger, and the balance is the sum of those lines. Nothing is edited in place, so the history always explains the current number for you and the family.
Can families avoid running out of credits?
Yes. Auto top-up lets a family set a pack to refill on a saved card when its balance falls to a threshold, at the pack price, at most once a day. Memberships cover families who prefer a recurring bill instead.
How do no-show and late-cancel fees work?
They follow the policy you set and apply the same way every time, with a record of each fee. You set the rule once rather than deciding case by case, and families see the policy before they book.
When do card payments turn on?
Card payments and payouts turn on once you connect Stripe. Until then your account shows an honest status line so nothing looks live before it is.
